Research Report on China Container Industry, 2017-2021

$2200$3300

The demand for renewal and elimination of containers will maintain steady growth as the global container reserves increase and the service life grows.

Description

Description

China container manufacturing industry started from 1980, of which the production and sales volume ranked the first all over the world for 24 consecutive years from 1993 to 2016. In 2014, the output volume of metal containers reached 130,145,200 cubic meters in China with a rebounded increase of 26.69% YOY compared to 2013. With the rising world economy, the container manufacturing industry will come to a new development era.

There are more than 80 container manufacturers and supporting enterprises located in coastal areas such as South China, East China and North China, of which 90% are sino-foreign joint ventures or wholly foreign-funded enterprises. Difference in locations and enterprise nature satisfies customers either at home or abroad by providing customized services. In terms of Chinese container manufacturers, CIMC is the largest container manufacturer all over the world. Container manufacturers and supporting enterprises such as Singamas Group, CXIC and Orient International (Holding) Co., Ltd. occupy an important position in international container market.

With the development of economic globalization and China’s access to WTO, foreign economic and trade business developed rapidly in China. The total volume of import and export trade increased from CNY 11 trillion in 2005 to CNY 26 trillion in 2014 with the general rising status. China is the world’s largest trading nation instead of the U.S. As the most important transportation carrier of ocean shipping, containers play a crucial role in the development of shipping. In spite of the decline of the import and export value, China remained the first of global trade in goods from 2015 on.

The demand for renewal and elimination of containers will maintain steady growth as the global container reserves increase and the service life grows. Based on Chart Global Annual Output Volume Distribution of Containers, the output volume of global containers reached the peak value around 2000 and 2007 in the past 20 years. The output volume concentrated on these years. According to the service life of the container for about 8 to 12 years, the existing containers will usher in a new round of change requirements before 2019.

The supply and demand of container shipping services are significantly influenced by the development of Chinese economy. China is the most important container base in the world with the fastest-growing shipping companies in terms of supply. Concerning demand, the export volume of container goods in China accounts for one quarter of the total global container export volume. China is an important country in global container industry chain with the fastest-growing container ports.

In the next five to ten years, there will be no new alternatives to means of container transportation and containers. Therefore, the demand of container manufacturing industry will continue to grow, which is conducive to the sustainable development of China container manufacturing industry.
