]]> Global theme park grew steadily in 2016. Among major regions in the world, theme park markets in North America and Latin America were slightly in the lead, whereas in Europe, Middle East and Africa, the number of tourists were on mild decline. Tourist quantity of Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park dropped for the second consecutive year. The reason is  the decrease of mainland tourists, while they did not make any changes to meet tourists’ change in interests.

TOP 10 theme park groups in the world with their stable market performance realized an increase in tourist number from 420 million to 438 million, up by 4.3%. Disney Group, Merlin Entertainment Group and Universal studios Entertainment Group continued to be the top 3. China’s Fantawild became the fifth with the highest increase rate 37%.

In 2016, even though Disney still occupied its leading position in theme park market with strong profitability, tourist volume of its Magic Kingdom and Disneyland both dropped. Tourist volume of Top 20 water parks in the globe was 29. 68 million, up by 3.6% YOY. China’s Chime Long Water Park continued to hold the first with annual reception volume of 2.538 million.
