Description

The air bearing is an advanced bearing that uses a layer of compressed air to provide ‘zero friction’ bearing interface between surfaces that would otherwise remain in contact. The air bearing maintains an air film by supplying a flow of air at the bearing face through the bearing gap. It works efficiently in high speed and high precision capabilities, eliminates problems associated with traditional bearings such as, friction, wear, and lubricant handling. It has distinct advantages in precision positioning and high-speed applications with no need for oil lubrication.
