On the whole, the study revealed the following:
1. Internet market in Uzbekistan is beginning to shift from "early stage" to the stage of “familiarization".
2. The State attaches a great importance to the country’s information and communication technologies development.
3. The number of the UZ domain Internet resources increased by 16 percent, or by 1,500 sites compared to early 2010.
4. In late 2010, the international Internet data transfered rate amounted to 2.5 Gbps, whereas in early 2010 this figure stood at 1.1 Gbps. The annual growth rate increased by more than two times.
5. The lack of well-established and stable system of payment for goods and services in the Internet is one of the main country’s problems.
6. The legal basis is constantly being improved; there is a big number of legal documents regulating the country’s Information and communication technologies sector. However, there are still gaps remaining to put the current legislation into operation to legalize certain Internet activities which have never existed in the country.
7. Connection to the international Internet channel is performed through the UzNet state-controlled operator.
8. The Internet providers market is well-organized; it has its own main players and a strong competitive environment.
9. Development of the Internet services and additional services Market is under way.
10. In 2008, the Super iMax company entered the Uzbek market to provide the WiMAX broadband technology service.
11. By late 2010, the number of Internet users in the country reached 7 million, where 4 million of them are subscribers of mobile operators who have mobile phone Internet access.
12. The number of mobile operator subscribers in the country increased to 20 million, whereas in the beginning of the year this number was 15 million.
